Schmarrn from outta Space oder: Irgendwas mit Science Fiction
It’s about strange worlds, the future of the earth, cyborgs, aliens, machines that dominate the earth and intergalactic wars. It’s about Science-Fiction and the question, what does that actually have to do with us? The look into the future is no longer under the sign of a naive belief in progress. In times of Trump, Erdogan and Putin, you wonder if the world is turning backwards. Is George Orwell’s “1984” awaiting us in the future? With terrorism and soft target attacks, absolute contingency breaks into our everyday lives, nothing is safe anymore. Everything is possible. Where is the optimism? It’s going to be slightly political. And a little trashy. An attempt. Equipped with shine and glitter we depart into the not so distant future. Or at least celebrate the end of a world as we knew it before. Maybe because it’s time to leave it behind. Maybe because the hope for a better future is not abandoned yet.
